Summer Reading Program Begins 

Monday, June 16

Craft & Activity Days

Drop in from 2-4 p.m. to enjoy fun crafts & other activities.  Ages 6 & up.

Mondays, June 16, June 23, June 30, July 7 & July 14, 2-4 p.m.

 

Storytime & Open Play

Join us for storytime and stay for an informal playtime at the library.  Ages 5 & under.

Tuesdays, June 17, June 24, July 1, July 8, & July 15, 11:15 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

 

Paws for Reading

Drop in from 3 - 4 p.m. to read to a certified therapy dog, Josie or Katie. Readers of all ages are welcome.

Thursdays, June 5 - August 28, 3 - 4 p.m.

 

Professor Anson Pantz  presents “Bugs Do the Strangest Things”

The “professor” joins us from the Kalamazoo Nature Center to investigate the strange things insects do using humor, props, and puppets. Please call to register beginning one week in advance.

Ronald McDonald Reading Show

Ronald takes time out from serving hamburgers to come share stories and fun with us. Please call to register beginning one week in advance.

Harpbeat of America Music Show

Come hear Donna Novack play the harp like you’ve never heard it before! Plenty of energy and audience participation will be part of this show. Please call to register beginning one week in advance.

Joel Tacey Juggle Bug Comedy Show

Get ready for dazzling juggling, wacky stunts, audience participation, and big surprises. Comedian Joel Tacey will have kids and parents laughing out loud! Please call to register beginning one week in advance.

Ice Cream Social

Summer Reading Program participants who read at least 10 picture books or 2 chapter books (and their families) will be invited to make their own ice cream sundaes and get balloon animals.  Grand prize winners will also be announced.  Be sure to turn in your reading log after you read the required number of books to get an invitation. Please RSVP by July 14.
